Riana Watihana

I’m Riana Watihana, a Kiwi now based in Malta. I finished my journalism degree at the University of Canterbury in 2019, and not long after I ended up in the iGaming world. Writing was always something I enjoyed, and working with casinos gave me a new way to use that skill.

My first proper role was with Casumo. I joined in late 2019 and spent a couple of years there, mostly learning the ropes and figuring out how to make casino content useful for players. After that, I moved across to Betiton, where I stayed until the end of 2023, working on articles and promotions for an international audience.

In 2024 I became part of MinimumDepositCasino.nz. What I try to do here is simple: give Kiwi players reviews and guides that actually make sense, without all the marketing fluff. If there’s a bonus worth grabbing, I’ll explain it in plain language, the same way I’d tell a friend.

Outside of work, I keep an eye on new casino trends and I’m into sports as well. Growing up in New Zealand and now living in Malta gives me two different views of gambling — one local, one global — and I like to mix both perspectives in my writing.
